Geneva Snider, age 83, of Steele, ND, died on April 11, 2026. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 24, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Steele, with Father Peter Sharpe officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior.

Burial will be held in Faulkton, SD on Saturday April 25 at 1:00 p.m.

Geneva Rosella Snider was born on March 16, 1943, in Faulkton, SD to Forrest and Mamie (Seward) Snider. She was the middle of five children, attended school in Faulkton, SD, graduating in 1961 and attended Northern State Teachers College in Aberdeen, SD in 1962. She graduated from Bismarck State College with a degree in English.

She was once married to Jerome Tishmack. To this union they welcomed six children: Penelope, Priscilla, Patrick, Patricia, Petina and Preston.

Geneva spent her time in Steele, caring for her children, was an active member of St. Francis de Sales Alter Society. She loved horses and dogs. Her pets, Buck and Badger were her constant companions. Her hobbies included softball, golf, reading, gardening, playing bingo and watching TV.

Geneva left behind her children, Penelope (Niel) Heinze of Mandan, ND; Priscilla (Kevin) Marso of Pierre, SD; Patrick (Jody) Tishmack of Lafayette, IN; Petina (John) Falk of Denver, CO; and Preston Tishmack of Fort Myers, FL; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; brother, John (Sangwan) Snider; brother-in-law, William Cooper; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Forrest and Mamie; daughter, Patricia Tishmack; brother, Frank Snider; sisters, Dorothy Cooper and Elizabeth Snider.
