Getty Torres, age 51, passed away on April 5, 2026, at his home.

Getty spent much of his youth surrounded by family and remained connected throughout his life to his mother, Leah, and his sister, Roxi. He valued spending time with them, especially during holidays in Beach, North Dakota, and later in Dickinson, North Dakota.

Though Getty lived in several places over the years, Bismarck became his home for the past 22 years. Those who knew him often described him as a giant teddy bear. He was quick with a fist bump and a friendly greeting. Getty preferred meaningful one‑on‑one connections and offered a quiet presence in the lives of those around him.

Getty could be found spending time at the Bismarck Aquatic Center, walking the mall, and going to movies. He was a proud member of Ice Dragon Brazilian Jiu‑Jitsu, which was an important part of his life. He retired from work, but was proud of his employment at Sickies, Texas Roadhouse, and MVP.

Getty will be remembered for his kindness and sincere connections he made with others. He leaves behind loving family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

A memorial service will be held at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Pkwy, Bismarck, on Monday, April 27th at 2:00 pm.
