Izaak Karter Kroh was born on January 17, 2007, in Boise, Idaho, and passed away on July 3, 2025, in Bismarck, North Dakota, after succumbing to injuries from a work-related accident. His sense of humor and his gift for making people laugh will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, July 14, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 N 4th St, Bismarck.
Visitation will be held from 2:00-5:00 PM, Sunday, July 13, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Pkwy, Bismarck.
After moving to Bismarck in 2009, Izaak attended Dorothy Moses Elementary, Apple Creek Elementary, Wachter Middle School, and Bismarck High School. He graduated in May 2025 through Acellus Online High School Academy.
Growing up, Izaak was involved in youth baseball and later became part of the Bismarck High School Baseball Team. Following in his brother’s footsteps, he also joined the Bismarck High School Boys Swim and Dive Team.
Izaak entered the working world with enthusiasm. He was a member of the Larks Baseball Team entertainment staff, where he brought Merifeather the mascot to life before moving up to Master Griller, preparing food for the games. He also had a hand in building sets for the Sleepy Hollow Theatre. Later, he worked for Bismarck Parks and Recreation in building maintenance at the Bismarck Aquatic Center, where he discovered a love for working out. Most recently, he began working as a groundskeeper at the Tom O'Leary Golf Course, where he took pride in learning the ins and outs of maintaining a golf course.
Izaak had a passion for cars and dreamed of owning an older-model Chevrolet Camaro, preferably orange or black. He was preparing to enlist in the North Dakota National Guard and planned to purchase his dream car after returning from Basic Training and AIT. His taste in music spanned all genres, and attending an Alan Jackson concert was high on his bucket list, so he had been scouting concerts nearby. Izaak enjoyed many trips to Boise to visit his siblings, where they would soak up as much bonding time as possible. He loved the outdoors, and the family often joked that if he could have spent his life hunting or fishing instead of going to school, he absolutely would have. He could often be found cruising Main Street with friends, attending local car shows, or relaxing at home watching YouTube.
Above all, Izaak was deeply loved and will be forever missed by his family: his parents, Tiffany and Duane; his sister, Megan (Boise, ID); and his brother, Braxton (Boise, ID). He was also cherished by his grandparents, Cindy and Tracy Vanous (Bismarck, ND) and Myron and Marie Kroh (Bismarck, ND); his aunts and uncles, Heather (Colin) Engel (Bettendorf, IA) and David (Sara) Kroh (Bismarck, ND); his cousins, Luca and Crew Engel (Bettendorf, IA), Kaitlyn and Ethan Kroh (Bismarck, ND), and Ryan and Erin Voeller (Bismarck, ND). He leaves behind extended family, friends, and his best friend since second grade, Zachariah Kuil, who always had Izaak’s back. Some of his best memories were made at the cabin on Lake Metigoshe with the Kuil family.
Izaak is preceded in death by his beloved family dog, Penny; his great-grandparents, Helen and Claude Braunagel, Elywn Vanous, Harris and Laura Morey, Rudolph and Ella Kroh; and many great-aunts and uncles who are now hunting, fishing, and watching car races with him in heaven.
