Jackie K. McNeil, age 85, passed away April 9, 2026 surrounded by her family, at Sanford Hospital in Bismarck, ND.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, April 17, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Pkwy, Bismarck. Visitation will be held one hour prior. 

Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Bismarck.

Jackie was born on September 1, 1940 in Bathgate, North Dakota to Kenneth and Margaret McColl. She attended school in Bathgate, and graduated high school in the year of 1959.

On December 30, 1962, she married Gary Dale McNeil. Together, they resided in Colorado whilst Gary served in the United States Army. After three years, they returned to North Dakota in the town of Walhalla where they farmed and raised their four children together.

In 1979, they moved to Bismarck, North Dakota, with their children, where they permanently resided. In the year of 1982, Jackie attended nursing school at the Bismarck Hospital School of Nursing. After graduating, Jackie worked as a dedicated nurse for 20+ years at MedCenter One in Bismarck.

After retirement, Jackie became a member of the Bismarck Kennel Club. Jackie's passion and love for dogs was able to take a forefront in her life, allowing her to travel to and attend many dog shows, meeting many wonderful friends along her way. Jackie also loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren, family and friends. She loved to travel with family and friends and explore new places, namely Graceland Iceland, and Scotland as she felt deeply connected to these places through her love for Elvis Presley and her heritage.

Jackie was proud of each of her children and grandchildren on each of their unique paths and journeys. Jackie's love of dogs and her family is visibly evident from the moment you enter her home, with photo frames lining almost every inch of wall and shelf space displaying the people and pets that brought her joy with each day.

On the spring morning of April 9, 2026, Jackie gracefully departed this earth realm surrounded by the love of her family. Her essence lingers in the hearts of those who knew her- a testament to a life beautifully lived.

Jackie is survived by three of her children: Steven (Noreen) McNeil, Beth (Jason) Grosz, Michael (Alicia) McNeil; eight grandchildren: Douglas, Christopher, Meghan, McCall, Maxwell, Robert, Stuart and Isabella; five great grandchildren: Adrianna, Quade, Steven, Potter and Brooks; sister, Bonnie Moore; and several other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Margaret McColl; one brother, Scott McColl; husband, Gary McNeil; and son, Douglas McNeil.
