Our little angel, Jackson Harley Mayer, passed peacefully in the arms of his loving parents on October 24, 2017, due to complications after heart surgery at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN. Jackson’s wings were ready, but our hearts were not. We look forward to being reunited with him in Heaven someday, along with our Creator. A family service has taken place with burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Bismarck, ND. Jackson was born on September 27th, 2016 in Fargo, ND and was truly one of a kind. Jackson was born with a rare heart defect, but you would have never known. He was always smiling. His energy, infectious smile, and beloved expressions provided endless joy and laughter to all of his family members. He lived a very happy and love-filled year with his family in Bismarck. He loved to watch golf and play with his daddy, rock and read books with his mommy, finger paint works of art at daycare with Natausha, climb and push furniture around, shop with his aunties, wrestle with Grandpa Harley, and eat Uncle Dave’s fresh walleye. He is survived by his parents who love him dearly, John & Kara Mayer; his maternal grandparents, Harley & Sheila Lacher; his paternal grandparents, Dan & Kathy Mayer; aunts, Kimberly Lacher, Tiffany Lacher, Jennifer (David) Gronos, and Elizabeth Mayer; uncle, Matthew (Onika) Mayer; and his four cousins, Eden & Alan Mayer and Brextyn & Bryar Gronos. He is also survived by great-grandparents, John Wilson, Bismarck, and Alice Schumacher, Bismarck, and many other loving friends and family members. Jackson was welcomed to Heaven by his great-grandparents Frank & Frances Lacher, John Schumacher, and Shirley Wilson. Jackson’s parents would like to express their sincere and heartfelt thanks to everyone for the outpouring of love and support throughout this journey. Thank you for the countless thoughts, prayers, texts, cards, gifts, food, and everything else that was sent to comfort us. Words cannot express how thankful we are and how loved we feel.
