James Johnson Jr. was born November 22, 1937 at 2:10 a.m. to parents James Peter Hill Johnson Sr. and Mattie Lewis Johnson in Memphis Tennessee.

He was the youngest of three children, joining siblings James Lee Jordan and Mary Magaline Johnson Shaffer. 

He leaves to mourn Inez Louise Johnson, Mother of Burnie Johnson, Lurena Johnson White and Glen Ella Acles, Mother of Brandon Johnson. Along with a host of family and friends. 

JJ Jr. loved sharing stories and memories of family and of his travels in life. He was loved by many and often spoke of friends and family from all over the U.S.

He was a fan of most sports, especially football and enjoyed spending time outdoors.
