Burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Bismarck.
Jim was born on April 2, 1937, to Fred and Betty (Baerwald) Weigum in Hazen, North Dakota and was the youngest of three children. Jim attended Hazen Public School and later the University of North Dakota and North Dakota State University, where he received his Ph.B. in secondary school education. Jim worked as a principal at Parshall High School until his retirement.
The love of Jim’s life revolved around the great outdoors. Jim was an avid hunter and fisherman who treasured time spent with family and friends. When it came to fish stories, Jim had many, but the fishing stories that resonate the most among family and friends were Jim’s annual fish frys during the holidays. The stories were great, but the fish were even better.
Jim will be deeply missed by his sister Marlene, nephew Mark (Kim) Bohrer, niece Beth (Mike) Thompson; great-nieces Brittany Bohrer, Ashley (Mitch) Hoesing, and great-great-niece Henri Hoesing.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Betty, sister Donna and brother-in-law William Roleder, brother-in-law Duane Bohrer, and nephew Greg Bohrer.
The family invites you to fellowship and lunch at 523 Sudbury Avenue, Bismarck following the service and internment.
