Obituary

Janice Beasley, 87, Bismarck, formerly of Goldsboro, North Carolina, passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2026 at her daughter’s home.

A celebration of life will be held at 5:00 PM on Sunday, October 11, 2026 at the Bismarck Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1109 N. 26th St., Bismarck.

Burial will take place in the spring of 2027 at Wayne Memorial Park in Goldsboro, North Carolina.

Janice Mae was born on April 18, 1939, in Kenansville, North Carolina, to Leslie and Russell (Burbage) Williams. She was raised and educated in Warsaw, North Carolina, where she graduated from Warsaw High School.

On October 11, 1955, Janice married Richard Beasley. Throughout Richard’s 20-year military career, the couple lived in several different places as his service took them both in and out of the country. Together, they welcomed two children, Debra and Richard. Following his retirement, the family settled in Goldsboro, North Carolina, in 1975.

Above all, Janice was a devoted mother who believed family always came first. She worked outside the home at Campbell Soup Company before moving on to Imperial Foods, a sandwich shop where she eventually became manager.

Janice later attended Wayne Community College, where she took nursing classes. Although she did not complete her degree, she devoted herself to caring for others, first putting her education aside to care for her mother and later her mother-in-law.

Janice found joy in the simple things in life. She loved gardening, took great pride in keeping her yard immaculate, and enjoyed cooking for family and friends. Her Southern hospitality was evident in everything she did, and she always made sure there was plenty of food for everyone. Alongside Richard, she enjoyed a busy social life and welcomed the many friends who became part of their lives.

Although Janice’s father passed away earlier in her life, she never lost her desire to visit and spend time with her mother. Her love for family remained a constant throughout her life, reflected in the care she gave, the meals she prepared, and the home she maintained.

Janice will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her generous hospitality, her love of gardening, and the care she showed to those around her.

She is survived by her daughter, Debra (David) Eszler, Bismarck, ND; son, Richard (Susan) Beasley; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Kristin (Dustin) Sauder and their children, Annabelle and Lilly; Andrew (Jeana) Eszler and their son, Jedidiah; Jaqueline (Matt) Marchlik and their children, Makayla, Matthew and Mason; Janice (Kris) McEwen and their son Max; and James Beasley. She is also survived by her sister, Jewell Register.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; siblings, Jo Ann Jones, Iris Jones, Adelaide Byrd, Sue Autry, and James Williams.
