Jan was born to William Woods and Darlene (Elbert) Woods on August 9, 1953. She graduated from Bismarck High School in 1971. Following high school, she attended North Dakota State School of Science and obtained a license to become an LPN. She used her degree in a variety of areas until her retirement in 2018, when she became Bubbie to her great-grandson.
She married the love of her life, Rick Roll, on May 19, 1984. Rick and Jan spent 42 years of joy together and were blessed with their daughters, Brandi (Ben) Morrison and Britni (Thomas) Carlson.
Jan loved games, including cards, electronic games, board games, and more. Most importantly, she enjoyed being with her family.
Life brought even more joy with grandchildren Halli (Steve) Hueffman, Tristan (Steph) Rambough, and Louis, Clayton, Rhyder, and Johnny Carlson. That joy continued to grow with the birth of her great-grandson, Tyr Hueffman.
Jan was preceded in death by her parents and her in-laws.
She is survived by her husband; her daughters; sons-in-law, grandchildren; great-grandson; four sisters: Lynette Philips (Mal) Adelaide Australia, Sharon Schwahn (Wes Edwards) Hettinger, Gail Ripplinger (Mike) Bismarck, and Deborah Bergan (Del Ray) Bismarck; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Jessica from CaringEdge for her care of Jan in her final days.
