Jason C. Enerson passed away unexpectedly on August 30, 2026, at his home.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, Sept. 5, 2026, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck. Visitation will be held on Friday, Sept. 4, at Parkway Funeral Service from 5 PM to 7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM. Visitation will continue one hour before the service on Saturday.

Jason was born August 31, 1971, in Hettinger, ND. He was raised in Reeder, ND, where he graduated from Reeder High School with the Class of 1989. After high school, Jason attended East Grand Forks Technical College, where he studied diesel mechanics. Following graduation, he began his professional career at Rydell Chevrolet Truck Center in Grand Forks. His career later led him to the Coteau Coal Mine in Beulah, ND, and eventually to Coyote Creek Coal Mine, from which he recently retired.

After moving back to the Bismarck-Mandan area for work, Jason met and married the love of his life, Carmen. Jason and Carmen were proud dog parents to Maggie Mae and Emma Grace, who were an important part of their family. Together, Jason and Carmen spent countless hours enjoying life, making memories, and sharing adventures. In later years, many of their trips took them to Rochester for medical care, including Carmen’s kidney transplant. Jason was blessed to be a perfect match for Carmen and selflessly gave her one of his kidneys—a gift that reflected the depth of the love he had for his wife.

Jason enjoyed serving with the Mandan Rural Fire Department and spending time with the Fire and Iron Motorcycle Club. He loved hunting, fishing, and just about anything that allowed him to be outdoors. In recent years, Jason found a new passion in competition BBQ. What began as BBQ became so much more than cooking. It gave Jason the opportunity to spend countless hours with his brother, Justin, doing something they both enjoyed. Along the way, he found a new “BBQ family,” made friendships, shared plenty of laughs, and created memories that will never be forgotten.

After the passing of his beloved wife, Carmen, one year ago, Jason carried her memory with him every single day. Losing Carmen left a place in his heart that could never truly be filled, and life was never quite the same without her. Those who knew Jason knew how deeply he loved her. He carried that love with him until the very end.

Jason can now rest peacefully by Carmen’s side once again, reunited with the love of his life in Heaven. While his unexpected passing leaves an emptiness for those who loved him, there is comfort in knowing that Jason and Carmen are together again.

Jason is survived by his mother, Darlene; brother, Justin (Amber) Enerson; nephew, Austin (Kacey); great-niece, Elouise; niece, Taylor; father- and mother-in-law, Cliff and Judy Lakoduk; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and members of his extended family.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carmen; his father, Gene; grandparents Otto and Helen Enerson; and grandparents Christ and Norma Hoff.
