Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at Ascension Catholic Church, 1905 S 3rd St., Bismarck, ND. Rosary will start at 1:30 prior to the service at the church.
Jason was born in Bismarck, ND, on December 26, 1971, the son of Rose and Clarence Kust. Jason was a highly motivated person, who always set himself goals to achieve. A doer attitude, with a proactive mindset, a focus on taking action, and a willingness to embrace challenges. Energetic, creative "solution for everything" who enjoyed his work and took pride in every project. Jason was a very skilled contractor, who focused on interior and exterior remodeling of residential and commercial properties. He was self-employed, having started various businesses, including Infinity Customs, JK Customs and ABC Mobile Home Service.
Jason had a love for the outdoors, cars, boats, motorcycles and anything that went fast! He attended the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally year after year and was a big Harley Davidson fan. On weekends he would often go camping and very much enjoyed being on the water. He found peace at his family’s cabin at Lake Isabel in Dawson. Growing up he and his friends would build ramps, placing them on the water and did stunts off of them while wakeboarding and skiing. He enjoyed bonfires, barbecues and loud music, especially Rock & Roll. He was always willing to lend a helping hand whenever someone needed it, whether it was with a project or someone to talk to. Jason enjoyed sightseeing in various states and was always checking on the latest local events.
Jason is survived by his mother, Rose Kust; children, Joey and Kayla Grinsteinner; significant other, Shanna Rae Kust; sister, Colleene (Bernie) Schafer; grandchildren, Ayden and Draxden; niece, Jessica (Eric) Salwei; great-nieces, Eleanor and Harper Salwei; nephew, Levi Schafer and his significant other Tiffany Heflin and son TJ; step-children, Tiffany, John and Patrick; and step-grandchildren, Christian, Embry and Easton.
