Jeanette dedicated her life to education and family - two pillars that defined her journey and left a lasting impact on those around her. Her academic path began at Ellendale College and continued through Minot State College and the University of North Dakota, where she pursed her passion for learning and teaching. Her commitment to education shaped not only her professional life but also the lives of countless students she guided throughout the years.
Family was central to Jeanette’s heart. She was a devoted daughter to Vendela MacDonald and the late Allen MacDonald. She shared many years of marriage with her beloved husband, Lowell Martin, whose memory remained close to her heart. Together they raised two children: Chandra Martin and Alan Martin. Jeanette took great pride in her role as a grandmother to Jamison Martin, cherishing every moment spent with him.
She was a loving sister to Kim Shelver, Val Jangula, and Mike MacDonald. Her relationships with her siblings were marked by deep bonds and shared memories that spanned decades.
Beyond her professional accomplishments and family devotion, Jeanette found joy in simple pleasures. She had a fondness for pugs - an affection that brought smiles to those who knew her - and she enjoyed crocheting, creating pieces that reflected both patience and care.
Jeanette’s legacy is one of dedication - to education, to family, and to the quiet joys that made life meaningful. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
