Joe was born March 20, 1935, in Werner, ND, to Mike and Margaret (Krenzle) Jassek.
At 18, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he served his country with pride until receiving an honorable discharge in 1957.
In 1961, Joe married the love of his life, Ann. They were blessed with two sons, Michael and Stacy.
Joe spent many years working as a heavy-duty equipment operator at local power plants and coal mines. In 1983, he and Ann opened their family business, Bismarck Alternator and Starter and Bismarck Engine and Machine. With Joe’s relentless work ethic and Ann’s partnership, the businesses flourished until their retirement in 2006.
Joe loved racing with his son Michael and traveling on vacations with his son Stacy. His humor was often summed up in his saying that his hobbies were simply “work, work, and more work.”
Joe is survived by his wife, Ann; sons, Michael (Laura) of Bismarck and Stacy (Darren) of Aurora, CO; special friends, Susan and Dave Green and their children, Megan and Joe; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved grand-dog, Ellie, his pride and joy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and three sisters. Also, his faithful grand-dog, Ziva, who held a special place in his heart.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to the charity of your choice
