Josephine “Jo” Julianna Meidinger, 88, passed away on Tuesday at Sanford hospital in Bismarck.

Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will take place at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 22, 2026 at Mandan Union Cemetery.

Jo was born on March 8, 1938 in Flasher, ND, the daughter of Frank and Mathilda (Hoff) Bernhardt. Jo graduated from Flasher High School in 1956 and went on to have a few different jobs before starting her own cleaning business. She was known for her attention to detail, which made her an excellent cleaner She was once married and had two sons, Troy and Brian.

Being one of nine kids in her family, Jo enjoyed going to lunch with her siblings and spending time with them.

She is survived by her sons, Brian (Stacey) of Bismarck, ND and Troy (Lisa) of Arnold, MO; siblings, Donnie Bernhardt, Doris Fleck, Marcia Miller, Doreen Parish and Jerry Bernhardt, along with several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Ed Bernhardt, Frank Bernhardt Jr and Patty Vandel.
