They raised two daughters, Tammy and Shelly. As a family they enjoyed traveling with trips to the Black Hills of South Dakota. The highlight of the year was the two-week family vacation to the mountains of the national parks. These trips were special to Joyce and her girls and after Harold’s death, she continued to travel with her children and grandchildren enjoying trips to the Caribbean, Hawaii, Alaska, Glacier National Park, Yellowstone and the Oregon Coast. A favorite role of hers was being called, “Grams” and she would take Kadee and Allie to Minneapolis to shop the Mall of America during their visits back to North Dakota each summer.
