Judy Ann (Stokke) Holt, a beloved wife, mom, grandma, family member, teacher, and devoted friend, was born on February 8, 1953, in Grand Forks, North Dakota, and passed away on August 4, 2026, at the age of 73, surrounded by her loving family. She will be remembered for her kindness, strength, work ethic, and care that she showed to everyone. 

Judy grew up on a farm near Inkster, North Dakota, and graduated from Midway High School. Before graduating college, she spent a year in Los Angeles, where she met the love of her life, Jack, who was also from the Grand Forks area. That shared connection to home became the foundation of their life together. On December 27, 1977, Judy married Jack in Inkster, North Dakota. Together, they built a life rooted in love, partnership, and devotion.

After graduating from the University of North Dakota, they moved to Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina, where Judy began her elementary teaching career. After a few years, they returned to California before moving back to North Dakota in 1981 to start a family, settling in Watford City. During those years, Judy devoted her time to her two sons and developed a passion for quilting. She became a talented quilter and shared her skills by teaching others.

In 1990, Jack was hired by Basin Electric, and the family moved to Wheatland, Wyoming. Judy returned to teaching while her boys were in school. In 1999, Jack was transferred to Bismarck, where Judy continued teaching until her retirement. She and Jack made their home there for the remainder of her life.

Judy dedicated most of her life to education. A role she embraced with passion and care and later earned her master’s degree. She touched the lives of countless students, leaving a lasting impact through her patience, encouragement, and belief in others.

Judy lived a life centered on love, family, and quiet generosity. She made others feel welcome and valued, whether through conversation, a thoughtful gesture, or simply her presence. Her gentle spirit brought comfort and joy to those around her.

Judy loved to listen to music, especially her favorite artist, Van Morrison. She enjoyed watching Sioux hockey and rarely missed the opportunity to attend her sons’ and grandsons’ hockey games, along with many other activities of her grandchildren. Judy was an active person who loved to stay busy and especially enjoyed spending time in nature while hiking, biking, cross country skiing, camping, and canoeing.

She is survived by her loving husband, Jack Holt; sons, Jeremy Holt (Jackie) and Cameron Holt (Grazi); and cherished grandchildren: Owen, Levi, Allegra, and Flora. She is also survived by brothers, Scott Stokke (Lynne) and Phil Stokke. She was preceded in death by her brother, John Stokke, and parents, Norman and Ruth Stokke.

A Celebration of Judy's Life will be held at 11:00 AM, on Saturday, August 8, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, with a visitation beginning one hour prior to the service.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
