Julius Engel, 91, Bismarck, passed away to meet his Heavenly Father on December 17, 2018.

Services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, December 20, at Bismarck Baptist Church, 2211 Laforest Ave., Bismarck, with Rev. Bryan Hochhalter officiating.

Visitation is from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Wednesday, December 19, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a prayer service will begin at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm Thursday at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.

Julius was born March 1, 1927, in Venturia, ND, the son of Jacob and Rosina Engel. He graduated from Ashley High School in 1945 and went on to enlist and serve in the US Army Air Corps for two years. Following his honorable discharge, he moved to Fargo and in 1948 moved to Bismarck, where he met the love of his life, Linda Berstch. The couple married in 1952 and they had three children, Steve, Jeff, and Julie.

Julius was employed by Yegan Dairy (Bridgeman) for 36 years. After retirement he enjoyed gardening, fishing in Canada, being a snowbird in Yuma, AZ, bowling, golfing, watching Twins baseball (win or lose!), and was a Vikings fan forever. Julius was a member of Bismarck Baptist Church.

Julius is survived by his wife, Linda; his three children, Steve Engel, Jeff (Bonnie) Engel, and Julie (Mike) Stumpf; two grandchildren, Jordan (Ashley) Engel and Brittney (Matt) Punt; three step-grandchildren, Kelly Lawson, Casey and Tyler Stumpf; three great-grandchildren and eight step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and two sisters.
