Kasey Volk

August 21, 1987 — December 15, 2024

Kasey Rae Volk went to be with our Heavenly Father on December 15th, 2024, at the age of 37, due to natural causes.

Kasey was born on August 21st, 1987 to parents Tim and Becky Volk. She graduated from Century High School in 2005 and went on the earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Rasmussen College. From a very young age, Kasey knew that she wanted to dedicate herself to serving others within the medical field. Earning several certificates and awards throughout her career, including the “Daisy Award” for extraordinary compassion, courage, and integrity in every situation, she truly made a difference in the lives of so many.

Growing up, Kasey and her sister, Misty were the best of friends. They often took pride in telling others that they were “exactly a year, a month, and a day apart!” As they grew up, their bond only grew stronger; living together for much of their adulthood, the two of them continued to create unforgettable memories. In 2014, Kasey took on a new role as an aunt and Godmother to her niece, “Stella Boo.” The two of them instantly became inseparable and Kasey was frequently deemed her “favorite person” because of her kind nature and gentle soul. Kasey’s generosity of time and resources not only extended to friends, family, and those in need, but also to pets of any kind. Just as much as Kasey loved people, she loved animals just as much. Rescuing several and rehoming them to a better life, Kasey was often referred to as the “dog whisperer.”

Kasey loved the outdoors and taking spontaneous adventures. Many vacations were spent hiking in the mountains with her mom and dad, taking in the beautiful scenery and the open skies. She found peace while being in nature and joy in spending time with two of the people she loved the most. The relationship she shared with her “Mama Bear” and “Papa Bear” was sacred. Like all of Kasey’s friends and family, she loved them deeply and fiercely. She will forever be their little “Scooter.”

While losing Kasey has left an indescribable emptiness in our hearts, it was a blessing to be able to share in her life and take comfort in knowing this is only a temporary goodbye. We will one day be reunited with Kasey in Heaven. We know that there will be tears of sadness, but we also know that Kasey would want us to carry on her legacy by spreading the same type of kindness and love that she showed others.

Until that day comes where we are able to meet again Kasey, we will continue to listen and look for your subtle “winks,” letting us now know that you are still here, you will always be here, if not in your physical presence, then forever in our hearts.

Kasey is survived by her parents, Tim and Becky Volk; sister, Misty (Nick) Ibach; niece, Stella Ibach; grandmother, Marian Volk; and many other friends, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Kasey was preceded in death by her grandfather, George Turnbow; grandfather, Pius Volk; grandmother, Donna (David) Naumann; uncle, Mike Volk; aunt, Rosalee Turnbow; aunt, Leann Turnbow; and her best friend of many years, Jillian Lorenz.
