Kathleen Johnson, formerly of Mott, ND, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister passed away on January 13, 2024, at the age of 75 in Bismarck, ND, after a courageous year of battling cancer. She was born in Jamestown, ND, on November 24, 1948, to her loving parents Edward and Esther Borth.

Kathleen graduated from Mott High School in 1966. She furthered her education at Concordia College, earning a teaching degree. Kathleen's passion for teaching led her to various schools in Red Wing and Little Falls, Minnesota, where she left a lasting impact on the lives of her students.

In pursuit of her desire to make a difference, Kathleen spent a year with Campus Crusade at the University of Wisconsin White Water. It was during this time that she discovered her true calling in life - to live a purposeful and meaningful existence.

On July 6, 1974, Kathleen sealed a lifelong commitment to love and companionship as she married the love of her life, Dale Johnson, in Oakes, ND. Together, they embarked on a beautiful journey filled with love, adventure, and shared memories that would last a lifetime.

The couple resided in Mott, ND, for 35 years immersed in the joys of farming. In 2009, they relocated to Bismarck. Kathleen, with her warm personality and nurturing spirit, found immense pleasure in cooking, hosting bible studies, decorating their home, and playing heartfelt music in the church.

Kathleen's dedication to her faith and desire to empower other women led her to teach in women's leadership groups and bible studies. She also found fulfillment as a speaker in the Dakota Woman's retreat. Her ability to inspire and uplift others brought light to the lives of many.

In their retirement years, Kathleen and Dale chose to spend their winters in Arizona, where they found solace in the warm sunsets and the company of dear friends. These cherished memories and experiences created a tapestry of love and happiness in their lives.

Kathleen's passing leaves a void in the hearts of her surviving loved ones, including her devoted husband, Dale Johnson; daughter, Julie (Shannon) Hammeren of Bismarck, ND; sons, James (Tracey) Johnson of Mott, ND, Steven (Molly) Johnson of Story City IA; and Scott Johnson, Phoenix, AZ; eight grandchildren, Jamison, Emily, Katie, Bailey, Eric, Marcus, Jonas, and Henry; and one sister Lori (Walt) Albus, Fargo, ND. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, colleagues, and the countless lives she touched throughout her remarkable journey.

In lieu of flowers please considering making a monetary memorial in Kathleen’s name to Campus Crusade or the Crosstraining Camp.
