Kelsy Cleveland

June 21, 1991 — January 14, 2024

Kelsy Kristine Cleveland, 32, Carson, formerly of Bismarck, died unexpectedly of natural causes on Sunday, January 14, 2024, at her home.

A funeral will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at The Bridge, 929 N 14th St, Bismarck.

The visitation will take place on Tuesday from 5-7 pm at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck.

Kelsy was born on June 21, 1991, in Bismarck, North Dakota, to her loving parents, Ron and Linda (Sackman) Moffit. She spent her formative years in Bismarck and graduated from Bismarck High School in 2009. She worked at Walmart for several years, where she received numerous accolades for her outstanding contribution.

It was destiny that led Kelsy to her soulmate, Eric Cleveland. On June 5, 2010, fate intervened, and through Kelsy’s cousin, they crossed paths and instantly connected. They became inseparable, becoming each other's confidant and best friend. Kelsy and Eric built a beautiful life together, eventually settling in Carson, North Dakota. Kelsy worked as the head cook at the school in Flasher, while Eric eventually joined and worked alongside her.

On March 7, 2014, dressed in camouflage, Kelsy and Eric walked into the courthouse, curious to experience what getting married there felt like. When the clerk asked if they wanted to get married right then and there, they looked into each other’s eyes, and both immediately knew the answer was yes. With joy in their eyes, they exchanged their vows, forever sealing their bond. They celebrated with family and friends at a later time.

Beyond her devotion to her husband, Kelsy possessed an immense love for animals. From cats and dogs to reptiles, fish, and even cattle, Kelsy's compassionate heart embraced all creatures, creating a home that welcomed a varied menagerie of animals.

Kelsy was not only a tenderhearted companion, but also a skilled cook and baker. Her culinary ability delighted family and friends alike. From her legendary stuffed shells to mouthwatering lasagna, Kelsy's meals were always a delectable feast. On Eric's birthday, she lovingly crafted two pecan pies, playfully stacking them together and transforming them into a unique birthday "cake" adorned with whipped cream.

The great outdoors held a special place in Kelsy's heart. Whether swimming, fishing, camping, or deer hunting, she found joy in every adventure nature offered. Her free spirit and love for the serenity of the wilderness were a constant source of inspiration.

Kelsy will forever be remembered as a cherished wife, a loving daughter, and a loyal friend. She leaves behind her devoted husband and best friend, Eric. She will also be deeply missed by her parents, Ron and Linda Moffit, Lincoln; her mother-in-law, Sheila Cleveland, Bismarck; her godson, Sidh and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Additionally, Kelsy's furry companions, Luger and Murren (dogs), and Emma and Gypsy (cats), will forever hold a special place in their hearts.

She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Charles Cleveland and brother-in-law, Dylan Cleveland.
