Kenneth was born on June 29, 1942, in Bismarck, North Dakota, to Joe and Bertha (Humann) Jahner. He was educated in Hazelton and graduated from Hazelton High School in 1961. Growing up with nine brothers, they were all active in sports, including basketball, baseball and football.
Kenneth first met the love of his life, Evelyn Masset, at the Linton roller rink, where a shyness prevented him from asking her to skate. In a gesture of brotherly support, his sibling offered him 25 cents to help him make the approach—an investment that would culminate in a wedding on April 23, 1960.
After graduation, Kenneth ventured into powerline construction before returning to Hazelton, where he found his passion for farming. He farmed diligently for several years, and the family later transitioned into town, where he became a partner in JB Construction alongside his nine brothers. Together, they traveled throughout the Midwest for years, working in powerline construction. Nonetheless, Kenneth's heart always led him back to farming, which remained his primary vocation. Retiring In 2017, Kenneth and Evelyn moved to Mandan.
Kenneth cherished spending time fishing on the Missouri River and hunting whenever the opportunity arose. For those who had the privilege of knowing Kenny, also knew his frugal ways.
Kenneth is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Evelyn Jahner; son Myron (Rita) Jahner of Bismarck; daughter Stacy (Jayme) Kramer of Mandan; son-in-law, Gerald Sathren; grandchildren Nikki (Terry) Goldade, Casey Jahner, Justin Jahner, Jamie Sathren, and Colby Kramer; as well as five great-grandchildren; brothers Wayne Jahner, Wes (Judy) Jahner, and Harvey (Nancy) Jahner, all of Linton; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Twila Sathren; his parents; and brothers Robert “Bob,” James, Melvin, Larry, Leroy, and Donald “Donnie.”
