Kevin was born to Magdalena and Russell (Walter) Yoder. He attended K–12 in Minot, North Dakota, and later attended Dickinson State College in Dickinson, North Dakota.

Kevin was known for his strong work ethic and dedication. He spent 47 years working as a heavy equipment operator—a career he took great pride in. During that time, he was a member of Local 49 Operating Engineers. Kevin retired in 2022. He instilled the values of hard work, perseverance, and integrity in his sons, teaching them lessons that will carry on for generations. He loved his three boys deeply—so much so that many of his passwords were derived from “my three boys,” a small but meaningful reflection of how proud he was of them.

Kevin’s laughter could be heard throughout any gathering, bringing warmth and life to every room he entered. He enjoyed many things in life, especially snowmobile and car racing, spending time with family and friends. Kevin could start a conversation with anyone, and once you spoke with him, you were considered a friend—and likely added to his daily call list. He cherished those many phone calls with friends from all over, always staying connected and sharing stories. He was often easily recognizable by the telltale presence of Copenhagen in his lip—something that became a familiar part of who he was, so much so that finding a photo without it proved to be a challenge. With a love for 1960's music, Kevin carried a piece of that era with him, something we'll always remember and hold close. He was deeply rooted in the Catholic faith. and carried a deep trust in God throughout his life. He believed God had the final say and would faithfully lead him to all things good.

He is survived by his loving wife, Janette Yoder (Krumm) of Bismarck; his three sons, Brady Yoder of Bismarck, Byron Yoder of Grand Forks, and Brandon Yoder of Bismarck; and his two grandsons, Emerick Yoder and Aydin Yoder. He is also survived by Tyler Krumm, his nephew, who held a special place in Kevin’s heart.

Kevin is further survived by his two brothers, Jeff Yoder of Minot and Brett Yoder of St. Paul, Minnesota; his aunts, Sharon Walter of Jacksonville, Florida, Audrey Dunkel of St. George, Utah, and Alice (Ron) Homberg of Detroit, Michigan; and Bev Walter of Kansas.

Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents, and several aunts and uncles.

He was also preceded in death by many beloved fury companions he cherished throughout his life, most recently his loyal companion, Max, Brady's dog.  Kevin and Max were inseparable until Max's passing in 2024.  If was often said that Max was just as stubborn as Kevin, but the bond they shared was unbreakable.

Kevin will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of hard work, laughter, and love for his family will live on.
