Leo was born on July 9, 1937 in Mercer, North Dakota. He was the youngest of three, joining his two older sisters, Arlis and Darlene. He was raised on the family farm in Regan and attended rural and city schools.

He worked at the locker plant in Regan before moving to Bismarck. While in Bismarck, he was employed at the Sweetheart Bakery in the engineering department for 34 years. During this time, he completed several engineering courses through Wahpeton School of Science.

Leo married Audre Poppe, of Wilton, on June 21, 1959. To this union, two children were born, Lori and Troy.

He was a great mechanic – there was never a car he couldn’t repair! In his spare time, Leo always had his head in a motor. He enjoyed buying, repairing and reselling vehicles all while working his full-time job. Leo was a skilled hunter, and brought home many trophies over the years. He taught his son at an early age the ropes to being a good hunter. The two enjoyed many hunting trips together.

He loved his family, and was always willing to help his daughter with anything and everything.

Leo is survived by his wife, Audre; daughter, Lori; son, Troy (Beth); grandchildren, Joshua (Mandy) and Gus; great-grandchildren, Savvy and Izzy; and many extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Emma (Helfenstein) Goll; and his sisters.
