Linda J. McIlroy

Linda J McIlroy passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2023, with family at her side.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 26, 2023 at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at Parkway Funeral Service. A prayer service will begin at 6:30.

Burial will be held at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.

Linda was born March 21, 1939, in Keif, ND to Robert and Olinda (Wagner) Mantz. 

Linda grew up on her family’s farm in McClusky, ND.  She attended school in McClusky and her family was active in the McClusky Assembly of God Church. She and her family loved and served God and she confessed Jesus as her Savior.  Linda continued to serve him all her days.

Linda graduated from McClusky High School in 1957, then went on to continue her education in Bismarck, ND.

Linda met her husband LeRoy Redmann while attending the Assembly of God Church in Bismarck, ND.  They were married in 1958 and had three children.  They divorced in 1981.

Linda had a long career with Burleigh County Social Services. She worked as an eligibility technician for 20 years, retiring in 1997.

Linda attended Beginning Experience hoping to find peace and healing, where she met Dean McIlroy. They married on April 27, 1985, at Bismarck Baptist Church and blended their families. Linda’s three children, Pamela, Donald, and Michele, And Dean’s three children Julie, Shellie, and Brenda. As they both found Beginning Experience so valuable for themselves, they continued their affiliation with the organization and served as facilitator/mentors to other hurting individuals.

Linda and Dean loved to travel. They enjoyed camping and fishing with family and friends, volunteering with missions’ groups and enjoyed traveling around the United States and abroad.

When Linda’s husband Dean developed stroke-like symptoms in May of 2005 he was diagnosed with granulomatous angiitis of the central nervous system. Linda was by his side through it all praying for him, caring for him and encouraging him. Although he never fully recovered, both Linda & Dean continued to love and praise God all of their days.

Linda was a faithful witness of God’s love to her children, stepchildren and grandchildren. She was always wanting to be present in their lives and attended as many activities as she could.

Linda will be deeply missed by her children Pam Dugan, Don (Carol) Redmann, and Michele (Lee) Seaman; step-daughters Julie (John) Nuss, Shellie (Greg) Kunz, and Brenda (Len) Wall; grandchildren Nichole (Mike) Rydberg, Jessi Negrette, Loni (Matt) Perrenoud, Sean (Erin) Redmann, and Alec (Camila) Redmann, Joshua (McKinzie) Nuss, Jacob (Kyra) Nuss, Laura (Israel) Parsons, Kaylyn Kunz, Conner Wall, Amara Thompson; sister Joyce Nichols, brother Jeff (Lily) Mantz; as well as many great grandchildren.

Linda was preceded in death by her husband Dean McIlroy, parents Robert and Olinda Mantz; brother Jim Mantz

In lieu of flowers, memorials can me made to the North Dakota Veteran’s Cemetery.
