Linda M. Schauer, 81, passed away November 13, 2025.
Linda (Morrow) Schauer was born on December 7, 1943, in Mandan, North Dakota, to Freda and Harvey Morrow. She grew up on the family farm with her brother Rodney. She shared a special, lifelong bond with her sister Janice, who preceded her in death.
Linda loved animals—especially horses. Over the years she cared for many, and her favorites were Shadow, Arrow, & Misty Dawn. Trail riding was her greatest joy. She was a longtime member and secretary of the Badlands Trail Riders, and she cherished traveling segments of the Chief Joseph Appaloosa Trail Ride across Montana, Idaho, and Washington.
Beyond the saddle, Linda enjoyed genealogy, tracing the family tree and reconnecting with long‑lost relatives. She also delighted in collecting antiques and frequenting auctions, carefully gathering meaningful pieces over the years that she proudly displayed in her home. She nurtured a love for model trains as well, collecting and setting up a massive layout in her house. Traveling was another passion. She traveled to England and all across of the United States.
She is survived by her daughter, Allison, and son‑in‑law, Jack; her grandson, Jack Humble III; her stepdaughter, Serena (Darrin) Sand; and her stepson, Shenan Schauer. As well as many friends & cousins whom she cherished. She was preceded in death by her parents, Freda and Harvey Morrow, and her sister, Janice.
A celebration of Linda’s life will be held at Eastgate Funeral Service on Wednesday November 19, 2025, at 1:00 PM, with a visitation being held one hour prior to service. Interment will follow at St. John's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a horse rescue, local humane society, historical society, or another cause meaningful to Linda.
Linda will be deeply missed and remembered with love by all who knew her.
