Linnea Ehli, 76, of Bismarck, ND, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2025, with her family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on September 8, 1949, to Roy and Rosemary (Schonert) Andahl. Linnea dedicated 37 years of service to Burleigh County Social Services, where her compassion and commitment touched countless lives. After retiring in 2012, she embraced a new and cherished chapter—raising her grandson, Jordon. He kept her busy, smiling, and young at heart, and being his caregiver became one of the great joys of her life.

In 1968, Linnea married Jacob Ehli, and together they welcomed three children: Marcy, Brett, and Lori. Though the marriage later ended, Linnea’s love for her family was unwavering. She was the heart of every gathering, known for her incredible cooking and baking. There was always something sweet waiting in her freezer for a drop-in visit, and her “Meals on Wheels” for her family ensured everyone had their favorite dish made with love.

Linnea is survived by her daughter Marcy (Mike) Running; son Brett Ehli; granddaughter Ashley Ehli (Shane Wiecks); grandson Jordon Ehli; and Michael Running Jr. (Mary). She is also survived by her brother Paul (Deb) Andahl; sister Denise Andahl (Rick Haider); nephews Jeff Andahl and Ryan Gronlie; Aunt Bev Schonert; and many beloved cousins.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Lori Ehli; granddaughter Hailey Ehli; and her parents, Roy and Rosemary Andahl.

Visitation will take place from 5:00-7:00 PM on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Pkwy, Bismarck, with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 PM. 

Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.

Linnea will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and the love she shared so freely with her family and all who knew her. Her legacy of kindness and care lives on in the many lives she touched.
