Lloyd Rittenbach, 79, Bismarck died October 5, 2019, unexpectedly but peacefully in his home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 8, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Parkway Funeral Service where a Prayer Service will begin at 7:00 PM.
Burial will be held Wednesday at 3:00 pm at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery.
Lloyd was born December 9, 1939, in McClusky, ND to Jacob & Pauline (Waltz) Rittenbach. On June 14, 1963 he married Frances Laib. Lloyd then joined the army in July of 1963 and was stationed in Kaiserslautern, Germany where on his time off explored parts of Europe. He and his wife returned to Bismarck where they have resided since 1965. He worked as a plant operator for a construction company, and then moved on to Mid America Steel, where he retired in 2003. Lloyd had a love and passion for firearms and reloading ammunition. He was a very skilled craftsman with a talent to build anything from scratch. Anyone that knew Lloyd knows he was an excellent chef and baker. His love for his children and grandchildren was undeniable. He would have dropped anything he was doing to help anyone in need. Lloyd greatly enjoyed spending his mornings having coffee with his close friends and will be extremely missed by everyone that knew him.
Lloyd was a member of the Elks, Amvets, the Academy of Model Aeronautics Airplane Club and had 50 years of service with the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Rittenbach, Bismarck; his five children, Tangula (Wayne) Unruh, Bismarck; Tori Rittenbach, Denver; Trista Rittenbach, Denver; Trennda (Brian) Rittenbach Le, San Jose; Trent Lloyd (Char) Rittenbach, Bismarck; his grandchildren Dusten Unruh, Sierra Unruh, Brianne Murray, Bryce Murray, Treylyn Rittenbach, Porter Lloyd Rittenbach and baby Le.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Ervin Rittenbach and Harold Rittenbach, his sister Adeline Wisdom and baby girl Rittenbach.
