Lloyd Schafer, 97, Bismarck, passed away on June 2, 2018 at Missouri Slope Care Center. Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, June 8, at Bismarck Baptist Church, 2211 Laforest Ave., Bismarck, ND 58501. Lunch and burial will follow. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Thursday, June 7, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck. Visitation will also be held from 10:00 am – 11:00 am on Friday, June 8, at Bismarck Baptist Church prior to services. Lloyd Gilmore Schafer was born in Underwood, ND, on July 12, 1920, the son of Charles and Christina Schafer. Lloyd married Ardella Bauch on November 11, 1945. They lived on a farm near Underwood, ND, where they raised their son Rodney. After retiring from farming in 1982, they moved into the city of Underwood. Residing there until 1996 when they moved to Bismarck. Lloyd is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Jackie Schafer, St. Charles, MO; and many nieces, nephews, and longtime friends. Lloyd was preceded in death by his wife, Ardella; his parents; four brothers, Elmer, Edmund, Ervin, and Grant; and three sisters, Ruth, Cecelia, and Leona. Lloyd will be deeply missed by his family and friends who loved him very much!
