Obituary

Louis F. Treiber, (86), of Bismarck, ND, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2024. 

A memorial service will be held 10:00 AM, Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, ND.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the memorial service. 

Burial will be held at 1:00 PM at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND.  

Louis, fondly known as Louie, was born to Henry and Emma Treiber, on May 2, 1937, in Hebron, ND.  He was raised on their family farm with his five siblings and even though he eventually moved into town, farming was always in his heart.  

Louis served in the Army and was stationed in Germany for two years.  He was incredibly proud of being a Veteran and was a member of The American Legion. 

Louis was a talented mechanic and wood worker, loved watching westerns, traveling with his wife Carole, playing cards, and dancing. 

Louis is survived by his daughters Betsy Treiber and Erin (Sudhir) Mandadapu, both of Minnesota; step-daughter Michelle (Jeff) Glaser, Lincoln; step-sons, Wade (Jenny) While and Terry (Larrianna) While, both of Mobridge, SD; grandchildren, Matthew (Heather) Howell, Shane Howell, Matt Glaser, Lauren (Michael) Schmidt, Terra Glaser, Lexy (Luke) Tabbert, Cody and Samantha While; great grandchildren, Taylor and Kole Howell, Brycen and Kaycen Howell and Arena Tabbert; brother Armin (Lorraine) Treiber, sister Emma Lou Lavine; sisters-in-law, Jacqueline (Jackie) Sorensen, LaDonna Treiber; brothers-in-law, Jerry (Anne) Schettler; Roger Ives; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.                    

He is preceded in death by his wife, Carole; parents, Henry and Emma; brothers, Duane and Donald; sister, Arlene Magstadt; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Richard Magstadt, Curtis Lavine, Delbert and Kay Schettler, Donald and Katherine (Kay) Voigt,  Marlene Ives, Donald Sorensen; granddaughter, Laisha While.
