Lucille Irene Greer

May 31, 1933 — October 18, 2023

Sun City, Arizona

On October 18, 2023, the world lost a shining light, Lucille Irene (Woodward) Greer. She passed away peacefully at her home in Sun City, Arizona, at the age of 90, following a brief illness.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00PM, Friday, November 10 at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E divide Ave, Bismarck.

She will be interred in a private family service at the Tuttle Cemetery.

Lucille was born on May 31, 1933, in Tuttle, North Dakota, to Emelia and Russell Woodward. She was one of three children, and her childhood was filled with the simple joys of growing up on a farm in a small town. She loved to play with her brothers, Clarence and Orville, and she cherished the memories of helping her parents with the chores and exploring around their home.

After graduating from high school, Lucille moved to Bismarck, North Dakota, where she worked several jobs before deciding to move to California, staying with an aunt and uncle. It was there that she met the love of her life, Professor Edison Greer, at church. They were married on October 26, 1958, and began their life together in Saratoga, California. Later, they moved to San Jose, California, where they raised their family and built a loving home.

In 1999, Lucille and Edison moved to Peoria, Arizona, to be closer to their family. Edison's health was declining and lived in a care home where Lucille devoted herself to caring for him. She was a devoted wife and caregiver.

Lucille was preceded in death by her loving husband, Professor Edison Greerher, her parents; brothers, Clarence and Orville; nephew, Eldon Woodward and her niece, Debra Joh Woodward.

She is survived by her children and grandchildren.
