Lyle M. Anderson, 89, Bismarck, passed away January 25, 2026. A memorial service will be held 9:30 a.m. Friday, January 30 at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Pkwy, Bismarck. Family will begin greeting guests at 9 a.m.

Burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck.

Lyle was born on November 11, 1936 to Magnus and Esther (Marquardt) Anderson in Minnesota. He was raised and educated in Fairmount, North Dakota until his family moved to Jamestown. While in Jamestown, he met his high school sweetheart Jackie Brannan. They moved to Willmar, Minnesota from 1960-1972 and established many friends. Lyle and Jackie moved to Bismarck in 1972 where he finished out his career.

He worked as an accountant for Farmer’s Union until his retirement. He enjoyed his retirement spending time with family and friends at their lake cabin. Lyle was a quiet man, and enjoyed the peace of nature. He liked to spend time riding motorcycle, fishing, hunting and snowmobiling.

Lyle is survived by his daughters, Deb (Noral) Thompson and Julie (Dan) Richter; five grandchildren, Trever (Melissa) Thompson, Katey (Corey) Kappenman, Kelley (Jeremy) Melander, Tara (Bobby) Usher and Kyle (Samantha) Richter; 15 great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, a niece and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; brother; brother-in-law; and nephew.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials may be sent to a charity of the donor’s choice.
