Madison Waylon Woehl, 28, passed away on September 18th, 2025, at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND, with his family beside him. Madison was born February 1st, 1997, to Troydell and Michelle Woehl in Bismarck, ND.
Madison, at a very young age, had a love for the outdoors. He started fishing around the age of 3 and it was his lifelong passion. He hunted, trapped, skied, knee-boarded, wakeboarded, and loved to camp.
In school, Madison excelled and graduated from Bismarck Century High School, where he learned to weld professionally. He participated in Skills USA and made it to Nationals. He went on to have a successful welding career for companies such as Bobcat of Bismarck and True North of Fargo. His talents allowed him to read and build off of blueprints. Because of his creative ability, he crafted many personal items and gifted them to family members and friends.
Madison never lost his childlike demeanor and was always the favorite uncle. He sat at the kids’ table and was always telling stories, teasing, and playing with all his nieces, nephews, and godchildren. He was an amazing teacher to all.
Madison loved to socialize with the older generation. Many who knew him would say he was an “Old Soul.” He always sang and listened to old country music with his beloved dog, Annie, by his side.
Madison is survived by his parents, Michelle and Troydell Woehl; two siblings, Matthew (Ashley) Woehl and Mckenzie Woehl; special friend Kody; grandparents Wesley and Deb Woehl, Lenora Woehl; special friend DeWayne; Jack and Linda Gillespie, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
He is preceded in death by great-grandparents Reinhold and Ida Woehl, Albert and Dorothy Gillespie, Art and Selma Bode; uncle Kurtis Gillespie; cousins Ryder and Payton Woehl.
Though his family mourns Madison’s passing, they take comfort in knowing that Madison is now with his Lord and his loved ones gone before him. Madison’s legacy will live in our hearts and the many lives he touched. Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
Set the hook, Madison.
