Marcella Koch

Marcella “Marcy” Koch, 84, Bismarck passed away on April 1, 2024.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00AM, Monday April 8 at Pro-Cathedral of St. Mary, 825 E Broadway Ave, Bismarck.

Visitation will be held from 2:00PM to 4:00PM with a rosary/vigil service starting at 4:00PM at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck.

Interment at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery.  

Marcy was born in Jamestown, ND on February 15, 1940. She was the youngest of ten children of Carl and Nellie (Schmull) Kunze. She attended and graduated schools in Jamestown.

On January 30, 1961, she married James Koch at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bismarck, where they made their home. Marcy worked for Hedden Reality as a secretary for many years. Afterwards, she worked at the Bismarck Title Company and then spent her final years at Heinrich Insurance where she retired from after 15 years. Marcy passed and received her CDL and trucked coast to coast with her husband Jim for one year.

She liked fishing, crocheting, embroidery, doing puzzles and she was a fluent reader. Marcy loved her pups and spoiled and pampered every one of them.

Marcy is survived by her husband of 63 years, James; her children, James (Chele) Koch, Bismarck, Mitchell (Nikky) Koch El Paso, TX; grandchildren, Joshua, Anastasia, Nicholas, Isabella Anne, all of Texas and Mariah (Matt) Weigum, Mandan; many nephews and nieces and her extended families.

She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings and one son, Dean.
