Marian Bold

February 23, 1930 — February 11, 2024

Marian Charlotte (Gramm) Bold was born February 23, 1930, to Gustave and Charlotte (Seibel) Gramm in Denhoff, ND.  She passed away peacefully at the Baptist Health & Rehab on February 11, 2024, at the age of 93.  Services will be held at McCabe United Methodist Church at 10:30am on Saturday, February 24th, 2024.

Marian was the youngest of 5 children.  She attended grade school in Denhoff and graduated from McClusky High School in 1947.

Marian and Dallas Bold were united in marriage on September 3, 1950, in McClusky, ND where they lived, worked, and raised their family of 4 children.  Dallas passed away in 2009.  They were married 58 years.

Marian cared for her family, played piano and organ for church services and special events, as well as sang in the church choir.  She taught piano lessons in her home, helped run the family business, served as a U.S. Census Worker, and performed clerical work in the Sheridan County Court House.

Marian enjoyed reading books (reading 215 over the last 12 years), knitting, crocheting, sewing, quilting, baking, gardening, and canning.  She enjoyed attending the sports and music activities of her grandchildren and was an avid Twins baseball and Timberwolves basketball fan.  We will miss her superb memory and stories of life growing up and family history.

Marian was a member of the McClusky and McCabe United Methodist Churches.  Before moving to Bismarck in 2009, she was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary (70 years), Junior Homemakers Club, and the United Methodist Women.

Marian was preceded in death by her parents, Gustave & Charlotte; husband, Dallas; brothers, Edward, Carl, Robert; and sister, Ruby Renner, and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law.

Marian will be missed by family; sons, Thomas (Royann), Bismarck; Lindsay (Kim), Las Vegas, NV; Dennis (Joyce), Mandan; and daughter Peggy (Jim) Peterson, Bismarck; 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; in-laws, Leona Bold, Fullerton, CA; and Donella (Dean) Johnson, Bismarck; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Marian will be buried with her husband Dallas at the ND Veterans Cemetery south of Mandan, ND.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Prairie Pointe Assisted Living, Baptist Health & Rehab, and Hospice of the Red River Valley for their care and kindness over the past 4 years, and especially during the last month of Mom’s life.  Thanks also to the pastoral staff of McCabe, Baptist H&R, and Hospice for their visitations and words of comfort.

The family prefers memorials be given to: ND Veterans Cemetery or McClusky Cemetery.
