Marilyn Heidt

April 19, 1954 — November 7, 2025

Marilyn Heidt, 71, of Bismarck, passed away on Friday, November 7, 2025 at a Bismarck hospital.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, November 14 at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck. Family will greet visitors starting one hour prior to the service.

Marilyn Hagel Heidt was born on April 19, 1954 in Linton, North Dakota. Wilma (Keller) and John Hagel brought her home to join her five older siblings. “Another skirt”, Johnny said. They, along with three younger sisters grew up working their family farm in Emmons County.

Her time on the farm was formative and she loved sharing stories about the adventures she had with her siblings. Her siblings and their families were among the greatest joys of Marilyn’s life and she took her role as an aunt, very seriously, spending as much time as possible with her nieces and nephews as they grew. Marilyn graduated from Linton high school in 1972 and moved to Bismarck to attend to Bismarck State College, before beginning her career at the Office of the State Tax Commissioner. There, she spent 46 years pouring her heart into her work. She also had many part-time jobs where she made many friends along the way.

Marilyn met Tim Heidt in 1990 and together they created a beautiful life. They welcomed Kaelee in 1995 and their “miracle baby” completed their family. Like all she did, Marilyn excelled in her role as a mother. She took so much pride and raising Kaelee and was a constant pillar of love and support for her.

Marilyn loved connecting with people. Whether an old friend at the grocery store, Linton High classmate, or her beloved nieces and nephews, Marilyn had a gift for making people feel seen, heard and understood.

The family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the incredible 7th floor oncology, nurses and CNA‘s, and the ICU staff for giving our sweet Marilyn the best care and making her journey peaceful for us. Please know you were all such a gift to us and to her.

Please no flowers. If you’re called too, please make a donation in Marilyn‘s name to Furry Friends Rockin Rescue and St. Jude‘s Children’s Hospital.

Marilyn will be forever loved by her beloved husband, Tim; her daughter and son-in-law, Kaelee and Thomas Kuklis; her grand-dog, Scout; sisters, Lavern (Dave) Rod, Helen (Kim) Kadrmas, Rosie (Doug) Doerr, Bonnie (Tony) Johnson; brothers, Frank (Von) Hagel, Bob (Jane) Hagel and John (Lora) Hagel; brothers-in-law, Richard “Dick” (Connie) Heidt, John (Lori) Heidt; Sister-in-law, Debra (Michael) Marback; many beloved nieces and nephews; great friends, especially Sue Lachenmeier; and all of the many people she loved and who loved her.

Marilyn is playing pinochle in Heaven with her parents, Wilma and John Hagel; older sister, Dellie; her grandparents and her aunts and uncles. Marilyn has also stepped into her role as Gram as she meets her twin grandbabies in Heaven
