IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marion
Bergquist
June 15, 1941 – January 21, 2026
Marion “Punky” Bergquist, 84, Mandan (formerly Bismarck), ND passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 21st, 2026, at Miller Pointe.

Burial will be held at Bowman Cemetery.
She was born in Bowman, ND on June 15th, 1941, to Martin and Clara Olsen.
Punky grew up on a farm southwest of Bowman. In her early teens she moved with her aunt and uncle, finishing her schooling in Washington State, before moving back to North Dakota.
She married Josh Randall in 1963. They were blessed with two children: Marty and Tami. Eventually parting, she married Ernie Bergquist in 1972. This union gave them two more children, Ted and Terry.
Punky worked her entire career caring for others as a mother and a CNA. She loved her work and cared for her patients as if they were family. Punky was a hard worker. At times working three jobs to support her family.
When she wasn’t working she enjoyed gardening, cooking, and bowling. Punky was an avid and competitive bowler in Wednesday night league for many years. She competed in area tournaments and looked forward to the state tournament each year. She also loved any and all game shows, bingo, as well as playing cards. Punky enjoyed Whist, Maryann and from time to time played a hand or twenty of Blackjack.
Punky was a supportive mother. She enjoyed cheering on her boys during their high school basketball days and rarely missed a game. She was known to strongly encourage other parents to instruct their kids to “just pass it to Teddy”.
Punky had a snarky personality and a quick wit. She enjoyed visiting with anyone and was never shy to share her opinion. Her house was filled with any number of her kids’ friends at any given time. She loved them all and welcomed them with open arms.
She is survived by her children, Marty (Dayna) Randall, Tami (Cory) Bohne, Ted (Alyssa) Bergquist, and Terry (Jessica) Bergquist; her grandchildren, Lindsey, Cole, Alena, Izzy, Harper, and Tennasyn; her great grandchildren, Ayden, Emitt, Addison, Scarlet, and Peyton. She is also survived by her siblings, Ardyce (Phil) Menager, Dean (Sue) Olsen, and Bobby (Clee Raye) Olsen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin Olsen and Clara (Clarence) Erickson; great granddaughter Ava Jorde; and brothers, Larry Olsen, and Martin Olsen.
We will forever miss her and her beautiful smile.
