Marjorie Kleven

April 17, 1945 — November 13, 2025

Marjorie A Kleven (80) passed away peacefully November 13, 2025, with her loving family by her side.

Per Marj’s request, only a graveside service will be held Friday, November 21 at 2:00 pm at Glencoe Cemetery, Hazelton.

Marj was born April 17, 1945, to Conrad and Frances (Lange) Welch. She was raised on a farm southwest of Menoken. She attended Boyd School #1, Hughes Junior High and graduated from Bismarck High School. She was then employed with the ND State Health Department for a short time until she began her employment with Job Service of ND, where she worked for 36 years. She retired in 2000.

Marj married Clyde McLean in 1964 in Bismarck, where they lived and had two children, Garrett and Audree. They later divorced and she married Galen (Cub) Kleven in 1981. They resided in Bismarck while they enjoyed assisting with his family’s farm near Baldwin and raising large gardens each year. Cub passed away in 2007. Marj enjoyed gardening vegetables and flowers. Most of all, she loved spending time with her children, granddaughter and great-grandchildren.

Marj was currently living at The Terrace in Bismarck where she made many special friends. She loved attending many various activities, reading, doing jigsaw puzzles and spending time with residents and staff. They truly did become part of her family and for this we are forever grateful. We are also thankful for the attention and care extended by Sanford Hospice.

Marj is survived by her son, Garrett McLean; daughter Audree (Ron) Joern; granddaughter Sierra (Tyler) Johnson; and great-grandchildren Eliza, Enzo and Zoey. She is also survived by her sister Marlys Schuler and brother Charles (Jinny) Welch, nephews Daryn (Michelle) Schuler, Kasey (Janel) Welch, Jesse (Kaylee) Welch and Cody (Janell) Welch, along with their children.

She was preceded in death by her parents Conrad and Frances Welch, husband Galen (Cub) Kleven, brother-in-law Alden Schuler and niece Debbie Schuler.
