Marvin Melvin Martel passed away June 24, 2025 at the age of 81.

Burial will be held at 2:00 PM at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.
Marvin was born on April 10, 1944 and raised on a farm in Medina, ND. All of his school years were in Medina. While growing up, Marv started hunting and fishing with family and friends. Hunting and fishing became a lifelong hobby he continued to enjoy until his health declined.
After high school he worked various jobs which included picking up cream for Wall Trucking, delivering fuel for Farmers Union, and managing the Woolworths Department Store in Bismarck.
The majority of his working years were spent in the North Army National Guard. He retired as a Master Sergeant with 26 years of service. After retiring, Marv stayed busy with hunting & fishing, woodworking, building/remodeling projects, playing cards, and volunteering. He mowed grass at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery. He was also active in his church (Legacy United Methodist) as an usher and greeter. Marv loved doing house projects with his kids. He could build anything and he had a creative mind.
Marvin is survived by his wife Donna, sons Darren (Lorie) Martel, Brandon (Jessica) Martel, step-daughters Jessica (Kevin) Bosworth, Jocelyn (Brandon) Zent, step-son Tyler (Rachael Yarbrough) Kuhn. 15 grandchildren: Morgan, Annika (Blake) Nelson, Hannah, Noah, Derek, Levi, Trinity, Christopher, and Kateri Martel, Callie, Brooklyn, Kylin, Beau, and Bria Zent, and Hawkins Wheeler. Siblings: Dorothy Mahoney, Linda (Dean) Jose, Jocelyn Guthmiller. Sisters-in law Josie (Jim) Dentinger, Linda (Aaron) Krebs, brothers-in-law Ed (Marina), Tom (Rose), Larry (Darla), Tim (Carmy), Eugene (Gail), and Bob Kuntz.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Ernest and Mary Martel. Siblings: Rosie (Frank) Bohn, Harold (Annette) Martel, Jackie (Rudy) Hoffmann, Delores (Johnnie) Mittleider, Ruth Martel, Rick (Patty) Martel. Brothers-in-law: Thomas Mahoney and Delton Guthmiller.
