Meta Maynard, 91, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 11, 2024. 

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, at Evangel, 3225 N 14th Street, Bismarck with lunch to follow.

Burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens. 

Meta was born to Gustav and Rosie Gries on November 20, 1932. She grew up in Goodrich, N.D. with her brothers, Helmuth and Adelbert.

Meta is survived by her daughters, Marcia Opp (Steve), Miriam Laska (Gary), Jee Eun Kim; daughter-in-law, Cindy Opp; grandchildren, Michael (Chelsea), Angela (Patrick), Maria (Phil), Jonathan, Sheldon, Heidi; and many great grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her mother, Rosie; father, Gustav; brothers, Helmuth, Adelbert; husbands, Allen, Arnold; son; Steve; many close friends; and extended family members. 

 She was an example of God’s love to all who knew her. She loved coffee and spent most of her life farming and gardening. We take peace in knowing she is now walking in the garden with Jesus and will be dearly missed.
