Micah was born May 8, 1998 to Dave and Sheila (Ritter) DiPippo in Johnson City, Kansas. He was raised and educated in SW Kansas, until his family moved to Mitchell, South Dakota in 2009. He graduated from Mitchell High School in 2016. Following high school, Micah took the Bison by the horns and attended North Dakota State University. He took the scenic route obtaining his four-year degree, and graduated in May 2023.
While attending university, Micah began his internship with Timac Agro. Following graduation, he continued his employment at Timac as a sales rep in the Red River Valley. He took pride in his work and was able to build his territory from the ground up. He loved working for Timac and was always trying to create a great experience for his team and his customers.
It’s hard to put into words who Micah was, but he had a contagious personality. He could talk to anyone from all walks of life. He wasn’t afraid to approach a stranger in the room, and by the end of the conversation he made a new friend. Micah wanted people to fully enjoy life, his relationship with Jesus was the source of his joy and lived to share that with everyone he met. He was known for being a generous and sometimes mischievous gift giver – his friends and family never knew what kind of surprise Amazon packages would show up on their doorstep. Though Micah didn’t have nieces or nephews yet, he was known as “Uncle Micah” to his friends’ children. Of course, Uncle Micah bought all sorts of random presents for them too.
Micah was very talented and confident operating any type of machinery whether or not it was the equipment’s intended use, and always willing to help his friends on the farm, even when he was “too tired.”
Most of all, Micah loved to have a good time. Whether that was golfing, fishing, hunting, snowboarding – he was down for whatever. When Micah’s brother and friends were weightlifting, he joined them. When it was time for them to go on runs, he would oddly disappear for the whole run and show up when it was over, mentioning how tired he was. Micah and his brother competed in a strongman competition where Micah was awarded Strongest on the Prairie. He enjoyed life in the fast lane and lived every day as one of the best days not taking anything too seriously.
He took great care of all the things he owned. He was very particular about keeping his vehicles, boat and home clean. If he noticed anybody’s car was dirty – he made sure to point it out to them! Sometimes, he’d take the liberty to clean their mess for them. Micah took great care of his best friend and furry companion, his black lab, Chief. He brought Chief home in 2020 and he loved Chief with all his heart.
Micah is survived by Chief, the best dog ever; his parents, Dave and Sheila, Mitchell, SD; siblings, Josh, Killdeer, ND, and Leah (fiancé, Ross Wiertsema), Rushmore, MN; grandparents, Rudy DiPippo and Ed and Bertha Ritter; aunts and uncles, Russ and Debbie Tidwell, Jonathan and Janet Tague, Justin and Joann Young, Will and Samra Ritter, John and Julie Mattera; cousins; David Tidwell, Luke Tague, Abigail Tague, Eli Tague, Asher Tague, Landon Ritter, Kit Ritter, Justin Young and Joshua Young.
He was preceded in death by his grandma, Rosie DiPippo; and great-uncle, Michael Zaino.
Micah lived his life by serving and gifting others. One of his last gifts was through organ and tissue donation, giving hope and health to many others in need. To continue the spirit of giving to others, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to AsOne Ministries (a link to AsOne for memorials will be available soon).
Micah was loved by all who knew him. His memory and the stories of his life will continue to be shared forever by his family and friends. Rest in Peace, Micah. In the spirit of Micah please wear a fun western, golf, or hawaiian shirt to the visitation and funeral.
