Burial will be held at Mandan Union Cemetery, Mandan.
Missy was born on October 5, 1970, in Mandan.
In her early years, she had fond memories that were made spending time on the family farm near Solen. She told stories of yard work, baking, and enjoyed time with her grandpa and grandma. She grew up and attended school in Mandan, where she met Junior Anderson.
On April 23, 1987, the two were married. Together through hard work and love, they created a family with a close bond. Over the next 10 years, they welcomed four children: Tommy, Billy, Kelli, and Kammi. Missy was put on this earth to be a mother and dedicated her life to nurturing and supporting her children. Her love knew no bounds, and she was always there to lend a helping hand, a listening ear, or a shoulder to cry on. She always took time to show how much she loved her kids in unique ways. These little acts of love were something that came naturally to Missy, and she would do anything for her children.
Missy spent many years working at the Mandan Hospital and St. Alexius in the Emergency Room. She had a passion for helping those who were in need and was driven to provide comfort, care, and smiles to all. In recent years she was employed at First Western Bank & Trust, where her positive energy and friendly nature invited all to stop by her desk for a chat. Beyond her role as a mother, Missy was a motherly figure to anyone who crossed her path, not thinking twice to extend her compassion and kindness. She met many people throughout her careers who became important to her, and she developed work families and lifelong friendships.
As time went on, she was blessed with five beautiful grandchildren and adding the title “Grandma” to her role as mother were two of her greatest accomplishments. Missy was the best grandma and was known for sneaking snacks and candy and always had a freezer full of popsicles for her grandbabies.
Missy had a love of gardening and yard work. She was outside as much as she could throughout the entire year, even if it was cold. She had a love of all things outdoors and enjoyed sharing that love with her family members. She loved spending time with family and friends during get-togethers and always made it her mission to ensure everyone was well fed at any event. Often making more food than needed and always making sure everyone left full. Missy had a great sense of humor and enjoyed playing pranks and dressing up around Halloween to get laughs and remind others to not take life too seriously and enjoy the little things.
She will be greatly missed by all who have met her. A genuine soul. She may have left us early, but her spirit will live on by all those whose hearts she has touched.
Missy is survived by her husband, Junior; children, Tommy (Alyssa) Anderson, Billy (Jamie) Anderson, Kelli Anderson, and Kammi (Spencer) Floberg; her grandchildren, Tavin, Kohven, Brooks, Brody, and Brexin Anderson; and her pets, Gizmo and Oakley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Darlene Leingang and Leland Gross; father- and mother-in-law, Swede and Bernice Anderson; uncle, Thomas Leingang; and cousin, Justin Leingang.
