Myrna was born on July 4, 1942, in Crosby, ND to Helen and Ralph Dewing. She graduated from Columbus High School in 1960 and went on to attend Minot State College to pursue teaching. Myrna graduated from MSC in 1962 with her degree and began her teaching career. She taught for eight years between Bismarck and Turtle Lake. Myrna loved to work with children and had many fond memories of her previous students.

On June 14, 1970, Myrna married Alfred Ryberg at First Lutheran Church in Bismarck, ND. Al and Myrna lived on their farm in Menoken, ND for nearly 40 years. They enjoyed traveling together and with their grandchildren as well. Most of their trips were to Montana and camping throughout North Dakota. Myrna and Al had 53 years together, and in that time had three children, nine beautiful grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Myrna was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Myrna loved and adored her grandchildren and spent much quality time with them. She enjoyed hosting family and friends for the holidays. For many years, Christmas and New Years Eve were always celebrated at Myrna and Al’s home. Myrna was an avid reader and was always finishing a new book. She enjoyed watching birds and her favorite was the Goldfinch. She watched for the same pair to return every spring. Myrna showed her love for others through her food. She was famous for her homemade buns and caramel rolls that always brought a smile to everyone’s face. Myrna devoted her life to taking care of others, particularly her nine grandchildren, whom she was incredibly proud of.

Myrna is survived by her husband Al, her children Randy (Val) Ryberg, Janell (James) Devine, and Nancy (Tim) Isaacson; nine grandchildren, Christian (Ashley), Lynnae, Claire, Zachary, Nicholas, Hanna, Izabel, Lucas, and Remington; one great-grandchild, Gunner; three siblings, Gaylen (Wanda), Carroll (Crystal), and Jane; three sisters-in-law, Sylvia, Lavonne, Pat, and Marilyn, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Myrna will especially be remembered for her selflessness, her giving spirit, and her strength during difficult times. She touched many lives with her generosity and her kind heart.
