Obituary

Myron J. Meidinger, 78, of Bismarck, passed away on March 31, 2026, at Sanford Health.

Private services will be held at a later date.

Myron was born on September 8, 1947, in Aberdeen, South Dakota, to Isadore and Viola (Just) Meidinger. He was raised on the family farm north of Zeeland, North Dakota. He attended Frieda Country School through the eighth grade and graduated from Zeeland High School in 1965. Following graduation, he attended North Dakota State University for one year before returning to the Wishek area.

During this time, Myron worked as a carpenter and held positions as a police officer for the City of Wishek and the Nickisch Funeral Home and Company. He also served with the Wishek unit of the North Dakota National Guard. He later continued his education at Valley City State College, where he earned a degree in Business.

On May 31, 1970, Myron was united in marriage to Eunice Doreen Johnson. Together, they were blessed with two sons, Sheldon and Shannon.

Myron was a skilled mechanic and carpenter, known for his precision and strong work ethic. He possessed a remarkable ability to analyze problems and envision practical solutions. Throughout his career, he worked in the construction industry, served as an accountant, and worked as an insurance agent. In 1982, he founded his own business in Bismarck, Sunscreen Accessories, which he later renamed Auto Air and Cruise. He owned and operated the business for more than 30 years.

Myron had a passion for unique, high-performance vehicles and motorsports. He enjoyed participating in car racing, as well as tractor and pickup pulling events, and motorcycle riding. He was a gun enthusiast who enjoyed collecting firearms and attending gun shows. He also held a special place in his heart for his Doberman Pinschers, which brought him great joy.

He is survived by his wife, Eunice; his sons, Sheldon (Jamie Irey) and Shannon of Bismarck; his brothers, Gerald (Shelley) of Bismarck and Kenneth (Susan) of Zeeland; his sisters, Shirley Olson (Ray) of Battle Lake, Minnesota, and Mary Ann Frohlich (Jan) of Mandan; his in-laws, Burdel and Theo Johnson of Tuttle, Janell and John Quinlan of Bismarck, and Leonard Fetzer of Fargo; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Isadore and Viola Meidinger; his in-laws, Edwin and Adelaide Johnson; and his sister-in-law, LoAnn Fetzer.
