She was born on November 5, 1994, in Bismarck, North Dakota, to Gregory and Colleen (O’Keefe) Stockert. Nicole was raised in Bismarck, North Dakota, and graduated from Century High School in 2013.
Anyone who met Nicole knew that she was full of life. Her smile could brighten any room, and her love for life was contagious. Despite the cross she bore during this life, she sought and created joy whenever possible.
As a child, Nicole enjoyed spending time with friends and family. She made many friends in school and through CP Support Group. She loved the sound of crying babies and was a ruthless Aggravation player. Her favorite activities included going to church, eating ice cream, and spending time in the community, especially the mall. The number of people who knew and loved Nicole was remarkable.
As she grew older, she found true friendship among the many support staff who cared for her over the years, including in-home support staff, HIT, Inc. staff, and her many peers at HIT, Inc. The people who worked with her treated her as family, and their love for her was undeniable. In turn, she loved them just as deeply.
Nicole is survived by her parents, Greg and Colleen; her sister, Caitlin (Anthony) Spooner; her niece and nephew, Cecilia and Andrew; her grandmothers, Joyce Stockert and Claudia O’Keefe; her step-grandfather, Albert Mikesh; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Robert Stockert; her maternal grandparents, Joseph O’Keefe and Agnes Mikesh; and her uncle Tim O’Keefe.
