Pamela Pearl Anderson, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away on October 29, 2023, at the age of 74.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30AM, Saturday, November 4, at Steele United Methodist Church, 102 2nd St. SW, Steele, ND.
Pamela 'Pam' Pearl Dougherty was a vibrant soul, the first born of five children. She was a graduate of Mandan High School and her love of learning later in life guided her to an education degree from the University of Mary. east
She was married on December 15, 1967 to MJ 'Bud' Anderson. They spent years traveling the rodeo circuits as she was an accomplished barrel racer and often sang the national anthem. Her love of music and her faith were intertwined as she was joyfully involved in the church. Pamela volunteered as a pianist, Sunday and Bible school teacher, and Bible study teacher and participant. Her faith remained unwavering as she had a deep desire to know and follow God.
After 10 years, Pam and Bud were blessed to have their first of three children and moved to Steele, where Pam became a mainstay of the community, teaching, attending church, and serving as an EMT.
She loved the outdoors and farm life. All animals brought her joy but it was horses that stole her heart, a passion she shared with her husband and kids. She spent her summers running Family Affair Gardens. A true green thumb, she prided herself on organic grown produce as well as the creative crafts she would sell from pumpkin painting to dried flower creations!
Her true joy was being a mother. She stayed at home for many years raising their kids, attending every event from school to doctors appointments. She continued this when her greatest love, her grandchildren came. Grandma's care packages were treasured as well as her time with them as they days were filled with games and baking. An avid cook and baker, grandma's creations in the kitchen were as filled with love as they were delicious.
Pam was preceded in death by her grandparents, Aileene & Lester White, Violet & RJ 'Doc" Dougherty and her father Lyle Dougherty.
She is survived by her loving husband for almost 56 years, Bud; mother, Floraine Dougherty; siblings, Mark & Marlys Dougherty, Margo & Tim Mullner, Juanita & Jerry Rix, Roger & Terry Dougherty; her children, Lance Anderson, Tylar Anderson, & Rowena Anderson and grandchildren Dahlia & Ellianna Rojas, Gavinn Anderson.
