A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on March 31, at Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, 520 Raymond St, Bismarck. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Patricia was born on March 29, 1943, in Napoleon, ND, the daughter of Daniel and Agatha (Weigel) Mitzel. Patricia spent her formative years in Napoleon before the family relocated to Bismarck, where she graduated from St. Mary's High School.

Patricia earned her nursing degree in Long Beach, California. Initially working as a registered nurse, her passion for patient care drove her back to Bismarck, ND, where she worked at St. Alexis Hospital and earned her Master's degree, becoming a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist.

During a spring trip to Mexico, Patricia met her future husband, Daniel Faurie, a native of France. Their love blossomed despite the distance, culminating in their marriage on February 20, 1976. The couple began their life together in Bismarck and later moved to Texas, where they welcomed their daughter, Jessica, and son, Daniel C. The family eventually moved to Syracuse, NY, where Patricia took a position at St. Joseph’s Hospital, devoting over 20 years to caring for her patients.

In her later years, Patricia and Daniel returned to Bismarck to be closer to family and enjoyed wintering in Phoenix, Arizona. Patricia was a passionate reader, immersing herself in a diverse array of literature, especially works related to World War II. She also cherished watching documentaries and true crime shows. The couple made many memorable trips to France to visit Daniel’s family and enjoyed alternating visits to North Dakota to see Patricia’s loved ones.

Patricia is survived by her daughter, Jessica (Tyler) Bowling, and their children, Samuel and Daniel, of Richmond, KY; her son, Daniel C. Faurie, and his children, Huxley, Eloise, and Gwendalynn, of DeWitt, MI; sisters, Dinah Brynjolfson and Bernardine (Fred) Jordan; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel; parents, Daniel and Agatha Mitzel; brother, Daniel Mitzel; and brother-in-law, Morris Brynjolfson.
