Obituary

Patricia Jensen, 91, Mandan formerly of Stanley, passed away July 16, 2026.

Patricia’s family is planning a celebration of life in September, check back for more details to come.

Patricia Davick Jensen was born to Peder and Selma Davick in 1935 in Coulee, North Dakota. She spent her early childhood in Turtle Lake before her family moved to Stanley, where she grew up. As a young woman, she worked at the local drugstore, where she also hand-colored black-and-white photographs. She was a talented artist who enjoyed painting and sketching throughout her life. She was also an avid reader and loved sharing books with people and talking about them.

Pat graduated from Stanley High School in 1953. While living in Stanley, she met Jerome Jensen, and they were married in 1955.

After their marriage, they moved to Indianapolis, Indiana, where Jerome earned his mortuary degree. They then returned to Stanley, where Jerome joined Springan’s Furniture and Funeral Home, and together they built their home and raised their family. They had three children-Kristen , David, and Cammy.

Pat worked for several years as a teacher’s aide in the Stanley school system, provided daycare in her home, and later served as the city librarian for many years—a position she truly loved.

During their early years together, Pat and Jerome enjoyed family camping vacations, especially trips to Whitefish, Montana, and Glacier National Park. Whitefish was always a treasured spot by the family because her sister, Shirley, and brother-in-law, Sonny, and their family, lived there, making it a favorite gathering place for all the families.

In later years, Pat and Jerome enjoyed traveling together. They were fortunate to visit Spain and Morocco, but many of their favorite adventures were exploring the United States.

In 2023, Pat moved into an assisted living facility in Mandan to be closer to her daughter, Cammy, and her family, including her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She then moved to a nursing home in June 2026.

Pat will always be remembered for her warm hospitality, delicious home cooking, and the joy she found in welcoming family and friends into her home. She and Jerome treasured watching their grandsons, Nicholas and Kyle, grow up and enjoyed attending their activities. Pat was fortunate to see her 4 great grandchildren and she enjoyed their visits.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome; her son, David; her brothers, Bruce(Boopy), Roger, and Dorrance; her sister-in-law, Jan; and her sister, Shirley, and brother-in-law, Sonny.

She is survived by her children Cammy (Perry) and Kristin; her grandsons, Nicholas (Rachel) and Kyle (Brenna); and her great-grandchildren, Ellie, Lily, Hollyn, and Reed, as well as her brother Duane (Paula).
