Percy attended and graduated from the Solen Public School where he developed his love for basketball.  He thoroughly enjoyed watching Class A and Class B basketball throughout his life.  Percy joined the Army National Guard in 1958 to 1966.  He was very proud of his military service.  Percy also enjoyed working for Super Value and Nash Finch for ten years.

Throughout his life, Percy was a devoted and loving husband to Esther, the love of his life. They met in 1961 and were married on August 19, 1962. Together they enjoyed 61 years of marriage and raised four children; Twyla, Alan, Teri, and Myron. Percy and Esther built a lifetime of memories and shared adventures that will forever be held dear.  Their union was a testament to the power of love, loyalty, and companionship. Together, they weathered life's challenges and celebrated its triumphs, creating a lifetime of treasured memories. They enjoyed traveling and The Farmers Union Travel Tours which took them to Nashville, Branson, and the East Coast.

In 1974, Percy and Esther moved their family to the Tschider Family Ranch which was established in 1911 where they lived for 30 years ranching and farming.  Percy and Esther moved to Mandan, ND in 2004 after retiring from the ranch.

Percy was a man of simple pleasures, finding joy in spending time with his family and friends. There were always invitations for hunting and social hour as Percy reveled in its comradery.  A favorite pass time was to meet his friends at the Junction Inn for pinochle and a drink. In his retirement years, you could find him at Dan's Super Value for coffee time with his friends and also to see his sweetheart as Esther worked there. Percy loved to watch old western movies.

Percy's love for his community was unwavering. He was a proud resident of Solen, ND, where he forged deep connections with his neighbors and friends. A hardworking and dedicated individual, Percy was admired for his strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
