Peter was born Sept. 3, 1943, in Almont to the late Jerome and Barbara (Meier) Hoerner.  He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend.  He will be remembered for his fondness of going antiquing and to flea markets with his loving wife, Marge.  He also enjoyed playing the slots at Prairie Nights Casino and the Seafood Sunday Buffet.  The many years of camping, fishing, and playing pinnacle with family and friends was cherished.  While over-the-road truck driving, he brought his wife along to travel to see the beautiful scenery from state to state.

Most of all, he will be remembered by his family for his care and compassion.  He would drop everything to help them if they were in need.  He enjoyed making his famous knoephla soup for family and friends which no one could deny was the best.

He is survived by his children, Kelly (Candy) Hoerner, Kim (Marc) Erbes and Kary (Rick) Boehm; sister, Darlene (Dennis) Natsky; brother, Tom (Candy) Hoerner; grandchildren, Krystal (Michael) Peterson, Karlie Hoerner, Connor, Aidan, and Drew Boehm and Nina Meyers; great-grandchildren, Klayten and Khloe Peterson.

Peter was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marge; his parents; sister, Annette Reed; and nephew, Steven Roehrich.
