Philip G. Ehli, 90, passed away on Dec. 20, 2023 at CHI St. Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck.
*Due to inclement weather the public visitation, rosary and vigil service have been cancelled for this evening.*
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. with a rosary/vigil service starting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 26 at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27 at Church of Corpus Christi, 1919 N. Second St, Bismarck.
Burial will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27 at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.
Philip was born on January 28, 1933 near Timmer, North Dakota to Philip and Theresa (Zimmerman) Ehli. He attended St. Mary’s High School and was a lifelong resident of Bismarck. He began his career with the North Dakota Army National Guard in 1948 and retired in 1993 with the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 4. Upon his retirement, Philip received the Legion of Merit award. After retiring, Philip remained active in the community, donating his time serving meals on wheels, and mowing lawn at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery.
Philip enjoyed spending time with his five children and their spouses, 11 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren, including having the entire family together for the holidays and attending sports events, tournaments, rodeos, matches, and meets. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren could always count on his support with a big hug and words of encouragement.
